These rules apply to all Huntsville Disc Golf Club league events unless otherwise announced by the League Director.
General Conduct
All league play will follow current PDGA Official Rules of Disc Golf and the spirit of good sportsmanship.
Players are expected to:
- Be respectful to other players, volunteers, and park users
- Help maintain pace of play
- Keep the course clean and free of litter
- Avoid disruptive or unsafe behaviour
- Respect all park rules and local regulations
The league director has final authority on all rulings and disputes.
Eligibility
League play is open to players of all skill levels unless otherwise specified for a special event or division.
Players may join the league at any point during the season.
League Format
League format, divisions, scoring system, and layout rotation may vary by season and will be announced before league play begins.
Examples may include:
- Singles
- Random doubles
- Handicap scoring
- Points-based standings
- Best rounds counting toward final standings
Check-In & Start Times
- Players must check in and pay league fees before the posted cutoff time.
- Players who arrive late may receive a penalty or may not be allowed to play depending on the format and timing.
- Cards and starting holes will be assigned by the League Director unless otherwise stated.
Scoring
- At least two players on each card are responsible for keeping score.
- Scores must be verified by all players before submission.
- Any scoring discrepancy should be reported immediately after the round
- UDisc will be used when available.
Tee Order & Play
- Tee order on Hole 1 is determined by the card.
- After Hole 1, the player with the best score on the previous hole tees first.
- Furthest from the basket throws first after tee shots.
- If it is agreed upon by the card, “ready golf” can be played once the card is off of the tee.
- Players should be ready to throw when it is their turn to maintain pace of play.
OB, Mandatories & Course Rules
The League Director may establish:
- Out-of-bounds areas
- Mandatory routes
- Drop zones
- Temporary course rules
These rules will be announced before the round begins and will override normal course signage if applicable.
Weather Policy
League rounds may proceed in light rain or poor weather conditions.
Rounds may be delayed, suspended, or cancelled due to:
- Lightning
- Severe storms
- Unsafe course conditions
- Dangerous visibility
The League Director will make the final decision.
Ace Pot
Ace Pot is collected at each league event to form a combined Huntsville Disc Golf Club Ace Pot.
- League Members in good standing will have access to the full value of the Ace Pot up to a maximum of $150
- Non-Members of the league will be entitled to half of the Ace Pot, with a maximum limit of $50.
- Only players who paid into the ace pot before the round are eligible.
- Aces must be witnessed by the playing card.
- If no ace is hit, funds carry over unless otherwise announced.
Payouts & Prizes
League payouts and prizes may include:
- Weekly payouts
- Season standings payouts
- Ace pot payouts
- CTP (Closest to Pin) prizes
Payout structures will be announced before play begins and may vary by division or attendance.
Standings & Points
Season standings may be determined using:
- Total points
- Average finish
- Best X rounds
- Handicap performance
- Other published scoring systems including, UDisc
Tie-breakers, if needed, will be determined by:
- Most league wins
- Head-to-head finish
- Playoff or CTP challenge
Courtesy Violations
Players may receive warnings or penalties for:
- Excessive profanity
- Throwing out of turn intentionally
- Distracting players during throws
- Unsafe throwing
- Abuse of course equipment
- Unsportsmanlike conduct
Repeated violations may result in removal from league play.
Alcohol & Substances
Players should follow all local laws and park regulations.
If alcohol is permitted by the venue and league format, players are expected to act responsibly and respectfully. ([Professional Disc Golf Association][2])
Illegal substances or dangerous behaviour will not be tolerated.
Pace of Play
Players should:
- Proceed directly to the next tee after finishing a hole
- Limit practice throws
- Help spot discs when appropriate
- Allow faster groups to play through when practical and directed by league staff
League Director Rights
The League Director reserves the right to:
- Adjust layouts or formats
- Modify divisions
- Change schedules due to weather or attendance
- Resolve disputes and interpret rules
- Remove players for unsafe or disruptive behaviour

The Huntsville Disc Golf Club league exists to:
- Grow the sport locally
- Create a fun and welcoming environment
- Encourage fair competition
- Build community through disc golf
